Ring girl Sydney Thomas has reacted to her newfound fame after being crowned the ‘real winner’ of Jake Paul’s triumph over Mike Tyson.
Thomas, 20, was one of five ring girls working at the event at AT&T Stadium in Texas on Friday night and went viral during and after the fight.
A model and social media star, the glamorous Thomas stole the show after catching the eyes of viewers watching on at home and from inside the venue.
Indeed, one spectator declared she was the ‘real champ’ after bringing ‘more action to the ring than the actual fight’ – which saw Paul defeat the legendary Tyson.
Thomas is continuing to make waves online and the morning after the bout, she took to TikTok to share a hilarious update in which she reacted to trending.
The short clip showed her pretending to wake up before picking up her phone.
She then looked stunned after checking her socials and notifications.
The caption read: ‘Waking up to see I’m trending for the Tyson v Paul fight.’
‘I’m happy you guys enjoyed the broadcast!’ her post added.
Paul’s unanimous decision victory over Tyson, 58, left many viewers worldwide disappointed but conversely, Thomas sent the internet into meltdown.
She had been joined by fellow ring girls Virginia Sanhouse, Lexi Williams, Delia Sylvain and Raphaela Milagres for the Netflix showpiece.
Thomas is a University of Alabama student, where she balances her academic life with modelling, and made her ring girl debut last month at a fight in Puerto Rico.
At the time of writing, she now has over half a million followers on Instagram.
YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul claimed 120million viewers had watched the fight from across the globe while Netflix said 60m households tuned in.
The event was the streaming giant’s first foray into live boxing and has since been lauded by Netflix as a ‘record-breaking night’.
