“Now it’s “Henry Cavill copy””: Buff David Corenswet’s Superman Transformation Still Being Trolled as Second-hand Man of Steel

With the production set to kickstart soon, David Corenswet has started gaining muscles for his biggest role yet. Corenswet, who has some big shoes to fill, has started his transformation for Superman: Legacy, and the recent photos of the actor have grabbed the attention of the fans.

And while most fans are impressed by the Pearl Star’s physique for Clark Kent, who is gearing up to become the biggest man of steel physically, some aren’t too dazzled by the results. Still hellbent on wanting Henry Cavill back in the role, fans of the Snyderverse trolled Corenswet’s physique, claiming that he is just a copy of the Man of Steel Star.

Not Everyone Is Impressed by David Corenswet’s Transformation

For his part in 2013’s Man of Steel, Henry Cavill enrolled in an extensive diet and workout plan in order to get shredded, and the end results left fans of the character enticed. Although David Corenswet also seems to be taking the same route in order to resemble his DC counterpart physically, fans of the previous DCEU expressed a lukewarm response to his transformation.

However, the majority of the fans did come to the actor’s defense, calling out the trolls on their hypocrisy, as not long ago, some were complaining about the actor being too skinny for the role. Further keeping in mind that filming is still four months ahead, Corenswet, who is 6.4 ft tall, might turn out to be the most jacked version of the man of steel to hit the silver screen.

The Suit Reveal Is Still Far Away

With things picking up pace, it’s reasonable to see why there hasn’t been any delay in Superman: Legacy’s release date. Unfortunately, it might be a long wait before we get a look at David Corenswet’s Superman. Responding to a fan on when we might get a first look at the new costume for Superman: Legacy, James Gunn stated fans will have to wait until the filming is over. And while no exact date has been indicated by the filmmaker, keeping in mind that the filming will kickstart in March, we might get our first look at the new Superman suit at next year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

Although it’ll be interesting to see how much the new suit would resemble the one that came before, there is a possible chance that we might see the iconic trunks returning on the big screen. But apart from being big, the upcoming film will also take back the man of steel to his roots, meaning Corenswet’s Supes might turn out to be the truest portrayal of the character since Christopher Reeve.

Superman: Legacy will hit screens on 11 August 2025.
