Watercolor tattoos have replaced black and white tattoos as the actual tattoo standard

Forget about black and white tattoos, because watercolor ink has become the industry’s new gold standard.Robson Carvalho is a gifted tattoo artist from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Robson Carvalho is from the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo. An vast variety of adjectives and adverbs describe his graphical approach, including scrappy, free, watercolor-enlivened, and pastel-like. His tattoos appear to be straight out of one of his sketchbooks, and in most cases, that is exactly what happened. Carvalho’s tattoos capture that free-form pen approach. His skill suggests that, rather using a tattoo machine, he traced a doodle with a marker and a brush. The imperfections are what give the work its flawless quality: some lines get faded, some colors fade, and some ink splatters as if the pen nib slipped and fell.
